Grant Love

LOVE WINE

LOVE Wine is a new collaboration between California sparkling house J Vineyards & Winery led by Estate Director and Head Winemaker Nicole Hitchcock, and grantLOVE, the art and design initiative created by artist Alexandra Grant, set to debut next year.

This new wine from the powerhouse duo will combine the two brands’ commitment to empowering women and creativity in the wine industry and field of art. Each new bottling of LOVE Wine will feature a LOVE label made in collaboration with a leading female-identified artist, amplifying unique voices and stories while transforming every bottle into a canvas of artistic expression. The first label was designed with artist Genevieve Gaignard. As part of this project, J Vineyards & Winery is proud to further support women in the arts and arts education via a donation to the grantLOVE Fund.

LOVE Wine, the limited-release California Brut Cuvée, launches in February 2025.
It will be available for purchase online and at our Tasting Room for $50.

Alexandra Grant and grantLOVE

“There are a lot of parallels between the art and wine worlds.
Alexandra’s mission with grantLOVE aligns with the causes,
values and big-picture possibilities that we focus on at J, and
LOVE Wine connects with our modern yet traditional
approach to winemaking.”
–Nicole Hitchcock, J Estate Director and Head Winemaker

Nicole Hitchcock

Nicole Hitchcock

In nearly a decade of leadership at J Vineyards & Winery, Estate Director Nicole Hitchcock’s intellectual curiosity, forward-thinking approach to leadership and investment in inclusivity has helped push boundaries and chart new territory in wine. After joining J in 2015 as Head Winemaker, Nicole was elevated to Estate Director in early 2024, overseeing a majority-women management team. Her passion for diversity led her to leadership positions in efforts like Women Behind the Wine and J’s Shifting the Lens culinary series, endeavors that led to her Winemaker of the Year award from Wine Enthusiast in 2022. She graduated from the Viticulture & Enology program at University of California and earned an MBA from Sonoma State University’s Wine Business Institute.

Featured Artist:

Genevieve Gaignard

As an interdisciplinary artist, Genevieve Gaignard investigates personal histories, popular culture, and racial currents through her lens as a biracial woman navigating unsettling American realities. Each of the mediums Gaignard works with is a conduit for introspection. Her photographs are staged self-portraits presenting a spectrum of invented yet recognizable “selves,” which undermine social hierarchies and beauty standards. Vintage wallpaper is a motif throughout her collage, sculpture, and installation work. The scope of her work is an ensemble of visual renderings that affirms Black livelihood and provokes reflection on the often hostile realities of the outside world. Gaignard earned her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and her MFA from the Yale School of Art. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, and she is represented by Vielmetter in Los Angeles.
