Undulating hillsides and coastal breezes greet those who venture the winding roads along a remote stretch of northern Sonoma Coast to our Annapolis Ridge Vineyard. Nestled among the mountain ridges that border the Pacific Ocean, the vineyard produces Pinot Noirs that are a culmination of ideal soil, climate and coastal influences — wines that will transport you to a uniquely stunning region of California.

With its proximity to the Pacific Ocean and high elevation, Annapolis Ridge is heavily influenced by the coast and climate. At night, temperatures drop as much as 40 degrees, cooled by strong coastal breezes and a blanket of fog. As the morning sun ascends, the fog dissipates, leaving the vines to bask in warm afternoon sunshine. Combined with the sandy and well-draining soils that make up Annapolis Ridge Vineyard, the vines hit a near-perfect balance that infuses Pinot Noirs with vibrant acidity and bright aromas.
There are no shortcuts to tending and harvesting Annapolis Ridge Pinot Noir. Our talented viticulturists farm everything by hand, going through the vineyard numerous times each growing season to ensure each cluster develops to its fullest potential. On every vine of this 44-acre vineyard, the shoots are perfectly positioned, and leaves are removed by hand, giving the small-berried clusters better exposure to sun and air. This meticulous work preserves the fruit’s crisp acidity while giving us concentrated color and intense, deeply layered flavors.

The care, climate and terroir combine to create a beautifully balanced, luscious and full-bodied Pinot Noir. With notes of dark berry, cassis, anise, rose petal and black spice and aromas of blueberry, cherry and plum, this wine pairs beautifully with savory, rich flavors such as roast leg of lamb and mushroom risotto. The velvety texture, broad tannins and incredible fullness give this Pinot Noir a structure that allows it to cellar beautifully.
